Policy brief & purpose
We, Torsihima Pump Mfg. Co., Ltd and its subsidiaries (hereinafter collectively referred to as the “Company”) acknowledges the importance of protecting Personal Information and is determined to commit to protecting Personal Information in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Policy (the “Privacy Policy”) as follows:
- Definition of Personal Information
- The term “Personal Information” as used in the Privacy Policy refers to the “Personal Information” as defined in the Act on the Protection of Personal Information (Act No. 57 of 2003)
- Formulation and Implementation of the General Rules for Personal Information Protection
- In order to implement this Privacy Policy appropriately, we shall formulate basic regulation for Personal Information protection (the “Company General Rules”) and will provide necessary and adequate supervision to our employees and the businesses we entrusted in handling the personal information (the “Contractors”) to ensure compliance with the Company General Rules.
- Acquisition of Personal Information
- When acquiring Personal Information, we shall obtain it in a lawful and fair manner.
- Use of Personal Information
- We will use the Personal Information provided in the course of business operations for the following purposes.
(1)To apply for, examine, and determine the content of a business transaction, to enter into, execute, manage, terminate a contract, and process thereof after termination of such contract, and to conduct any other related activities between customers, business partners, and the Company.
(2)To improve products and services provided to customers, to inform customers of related products and services, to respond to inquiries, etc., and to conduct surveys necessary for these purposes.
(3)To confirm and inquire regarding products and services provided by the Company’s business partners and related parties.
(4)To report, communicate, explain, and understand the exercise of rights or performance of obligations between shareholders and the Company.
(5)To confirm applications and participation, communicate with lecturers, report results to those who have cooperated or participated in surveys and various events, and confirm visits, all related to our exhibitions and seminars.
(6)To contact, confirm with, execute for, and report to persons associated with organizations to which the Company belongs or with which the Company is affiliated, or with respect to the business, policies, events, etc. of such organizations.
(7)To provide necessary information mutually to facilitate communication, joint research, and outsourcing research with research institutions and other parties involved in the Company’s research and development activities.
(8)To contact our stakeholders in connection with the Company’s public relations activities and to send the Company’s publications, etc.
(9)To handle human resource information for recruitment purposes (including recruitment activities, processing applications, selection, contacting successful candidates, and conducting surveys) and for personnel administration following employment.
(10)To contact or understand the situation of the retirees of the Company and family members of the employees.
(11)To proceed various applications, applications for permits and licenses, registrations, notifications, etc. to the national government, local governments, independent administrative agencies, etc., in accordance with laws and regulations.
(12)Other matters incidental or related to the above purposes of use or purposes specifically indicated at the time of acquisition of Personal Information.
- Change in the Purpose of Use
- We will only change the purpose of use of Personal Information when it is reasonably acknowledged that the new purpose is related to the original purpose. When the purpose of use is changed, we will notify the individual of the new purpose using the prescribed method, or will make a public announcement on our website.
- Providing Personal Information to Third Parties
- We shall not provide Personal Information to third parties without obtaining the prior consent of the individual, except in the following cases. The provision of Personal Information in connection with joint use or outsourcing does not constitute disclosure or provision to a third party.

- Sharing of Personal Information
- We may share the Personal Information in the following;

(2)Scope of shared use: The Company ’s domestic subsidiaries and affiliates
(3)Purpose of use for those who will use the Personal Information shared with others:As noted in this policy “4. Use of Personal Information”
(4)Name and address of the person in charge of managing Personal Information and the name of the representative: Torishima Pump Mfg. Co., Ltd (For more information about the Company, please refer to “the Company Information.”)
- Management of Personal Information
- In order to prevent divulgence, loss, or damage of Personal Information and to ensure the security management measures of Personal Information, we will take sufficient measures, including the development of “ the General Rules for Personal Information Protection” and the establishment of a system for security measures.
(1)Organized Security Control Measures
A “Personal Information Protection Manager” has been established as the person in overall charge, and the General Manager of the Support Division has been appointed. In addition, a “Personal Information Handling Manager” and a “Personal Information Protection Education Manager” have been established to assist the “Personal Information Protection Manager,” and the General Manager of the HR Department has been appointed to these positions.
(2)Human Security Control Measures
We provide regular training to employees on the handling of Personal Information. We also have internal regulations regarding the confidentiality of Personal Information.
(3)Physical Security Control Measures
In order to prevent the theft or loss of Personal Information, the Human Resources Department, which handles Personal Information, keeps documents containing Personal Information under lock and key in a separate compartment from other documents, with a ledger to keep track of them.
(4)Technical Security Control Measures
Access is restricted to limit the scope of the persons in charge of handling Personal Information and the Personal Information handled.
(5)Monitoring Contractors
In cases where it is necessary for the operation of the business, we may outsource part of its operations and entrust handling the necessary Personal Information to Contractors. In such cases, we will require those Contractors to strictly observe confidentiality obligations, and will also take appropriate supervisory and other necessary measures to prevent information divulgence. In addition, if we are entrusted with a business from a third party, we will handle the Personal Information entrusted based on the contract with the person who entrusts us in an appropriate manner.
- Disclosure, correction, cessation of use, and deletion of Personal Information
- In relation to the Personal Information we have, when you request the disclosure, correction, cessation of use, or deletion, etc. of the Personal Information belonging to you, please make a request directly to the Company in accordance with this article (The same applies to requests for disclosure of records provided to third parties (Article 33 Paragraph 5 of the Personal Information Protection Act)). From the perspective of preventing the divulgence of Personal Information, ensuring accuracy and security, we will conduct the necessary investigations without delay, and will disclose, correct, add to , stop using or delete the Personal Information of the individual in question only if it is confirmed that the request was made by the individual in question, except in cases where special procedures are prescribed by law. In addition, if the request is made to a different address than the one specified below, or if the request is not made in writing, or if the request is deemed to be inappropriate based on the results of the investigation, we will not be able to respond to the request. Furthermore, regarding the implementation or non-implementation of disclosure, etc., the individual who made the request will be contacted without delay, and in the case of non-implementation, we will endeavor to explain the reasons.

- Fee for disclosure
- The amount of the fee for disclosure of Personal Information shall be 500 yen per document in which Personal Information is recorded.
