The company name derives from its founding in the Torishima-cho area ,of Konohana-ku, Osaka, Japan.

Torishima Manufacturing was established on 1st August, 1919.

The Company manufactures and supplies large, high-pressure engineered pumps for infrastructure applications such as water and wastewater facilities, irrigation facilities, power plants, and seawater desalination plants, along with service and maintenance for pumps.

What are the strengths of Torishima?
The Company is one of the few manufacturers in the world capable of manufacturing the large, high-pressure engineered pumps used in water and wastewater facilities and power plant infrastructure.
Our boiler feed pumps, which are particularly difficult to manufacture, are capable of high-pressure operation with a total head (the height at which the pump can raise water) of 4,200 meters.
In addition, the Company is thoroughly committed to improving pump efficiency and has been awarded the Energy Conservation Grand Prize sponsored by Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) for its Go Green with Pumps activities, and was also selected as one of the Global Niche Top Companies Selection 100 for its RO seawater supply pumps for seawater desalination plants.

When was the Company's stock listed?
The Company was listed on the First Section of the Osaka Securities Exchange in September 1980, and the following year, in December 1981, it was listed on the First Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
The Company is currently listed on the Prime Market under the FY2023 TSE market restructuring.

Is segment information available?
The Group does not classify its operations into accounting segments, as the pump business accounts for more than 90% of total sales and operating income.
What does sector (Public sector, Private sector, and Overseas) mean?
This is information on the destination of the delivery.
Public-sector demand includes water and wastewater facilities and irrigation facilities for national and local governments.
Private-sector demand includes domestic power plants and various factories in general industry, commercial facilities, etc.
Overseas demand includes seawater desalination plants, water transfer plants, and power plants outside of Japan.

What are the business domain segments High-tech Pumps, Projects, Service Solutions, and Renewal Energy & Environment?
2High-tech pumps are large-sized, high-pressure engineered pumps and all pumps manufactured by the Group, including standard pumps.
These are supplied to plant manufacturers and end-users as stand-alone pumps (and may include motors, speed increasers, and other accessory equipment).
Projects refer to EPC projects (engineering, procurement, and construction) for the domestic public sector (as well as some overseas projects).
Service Solutions is maintenance of pump equipment, etc.
Renewal Energy & Environment is maintenance of wind power generation equipment.

What is the Company's management strategy?
The Group established a medium- to long-term management plan, Beyond 110, in FY2021, with a vision for FY2029, the 110th anniversary of the Group's founding.
The Company will steadily implement each of the measures listed, aiming to become a company that is indispensable to society, while balancing social contribution and business growth toward achieving carbon neutrality by 2050.

Please explain why the operating income margin has increased dramatically in recent years.
How do you see this trend continuing in the future?
After the disruptions in the production system caused by the rapid increase in overseas orders from around 2003, the Company reformed its manufacturing infrastructure in 2013.
Profitability has been improved through numerous initiatives, such as revamping core systems, standardizing and streamlining engineering designs, thoroughly managing profitability, and expanding the Service Solutions Business.
The Company is aiming to secure stable earnings in the future by continuing these efforts.

As the global population grows, the demand for water and electricity continues to increase, particularly in emerging countries.
