Torishima receives orders for intake booster pumps (spare)

Torishima Pump Mfg. Co., Ltd. has received orders for 2 units of spare intake booster pump for Kindasa Desalination Plant, Phase B2 located in Jeddah harbor, Saudi Arabia from Kindasa Water Services Company.
Torishima had delivered pumps for the same plant last year in order to increase the volume of desalinated water at RO plant built more than 25 years ago. However, after so many years of operation, there has been a sign of piping friction loss. Torishima then supplied them with booster pumps that would provide a solution for the problem.
Impellers and casings for these booster pumps were manufactured in Torishima headquarters factory, Osaka, Japan, the rest of necessary parts were designed at Torishima Service Solutions (TSS) in the U.A.E., and delivered to the plant. These booster pumps now are controlled by VFD.
Torishima’s previously delivered booster pumps showed an expected performance as proposed, which leads to the next order for additional spare pumps. Torishima will continuously offer the best technical solution, meeting customers’ sophisticated needs. - [ December 2013 ]
Torishima receives orders for hotwell pumps

Co., Ltd. has received orders for 2 units of hotwell pump for Germencik geothermal power plant unit No.2 from Gurmat Elektrik Uretim A.S., an Independent Power Producer (IPP) in Turkey.
This plant is the largest georhermal power plant in the country with the capacity of 47.7MW, located in Izmir city in the west of Turkey.
The latest order came to following a case in which Torishima had delivered hot well pumps in 2007 for Germencik geothermal power Plant unit No.1. Torishima believes that the high technical capability and reliability of preciously delivered pumps resulted in the new order.
Securing stable power supply has become a major issue in Turkey as its economy has been rapidly growing. Under such a circumstance, the Turkish government recognizes the country’s abundant geothermal energy as the precious resource to meet the increasing energy needs.
As well as wind power and solar power, geothermal generation is renewable energy which emits less carbon dioxide and contributes to environmental conservation. Torishima holds an opening ceremony celebrating the launch of Service facility in Bangalore, India
Torishima has received orders for nearly 300 units of boiler circulation pumps, which play a significant role in thermal power plants, since 2007 from India where demands for electricity are rapidly growing. In response to the customers’ needs of maintenance services for the boiler circulation pumps, Torishima has launched Service factory in Bangalore, the south of India and held the opening ceremony on 26 October.
Approximately 100 related members attended the ceremony including honorable guests, India’s largest power company, NTPC, Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited, BHEL, a giant engineering, construction and manufacturing company, Larsen & Toubro (L&T) as well as Torishima’s CEO, General Manager of Overseas Marketing & Sales Division, General Manager of Service Division and those concerened.
Highly specialized techniques are required to manufacture boiler circulation pumps due to the difficult operating condition with very high temperature (350℃) and high pressure (39MPa). There are 3 manufacturers who produce the pumps in the world including Torishima. Being the first and lone service factory for boiler circulation pumps within the country, we will continuously make a commitment to meet the local customers’ needs more than ever.
There are nearly 1,000 units of other Torishima pumps delivered in India including boiler feed pumps, we will be offering maintenance services for these pumps in the future. Also we plan to promote energy-saving solution services such as improving efficiency and upgrading performance of pumps and plants. - [ 1 October 2013 ]

Torishima receives orders for potable water transmission pumps

Torishima Pump Mfg. Co., Ltd. has received orders for 15 units of potable water transmission pumps for the Ministry of Water and Electricity in Saudi Arabia from Bin Sammar Company
Tabuk City, where these pumps will be installed, is located in the northwest of Saudi Arabia, along the Jordan border. From such a geographic location, Tabuk has a significant role in trading with neighbouring countries.
The population of Tabuk has kept been growing in recent years and this pumping station will be playing an essential role in supplying fresh potable water to its citizens.
Torishima has been conducting business activities in Saudi Arabia for nearly 40 years, providing high quality products, after-market services and stable water supply. In addition, we established Torishima Saudi Arabia Office in Riyadh in January 2013 to contribute to the further development of water and power infrastructure in Saudi Arabia. - [September 2013]
Torishima receives orders for boiler feed pumps
for Cochrane Thermoelectric Power Plant in Chile
Torishima Pump Mfg. Co., Ltd. has received orders for boiler feed pumps, condensate pumps and circulating pumps totaling 14 units for the Cochrane Thermoelectric Power Plant from Posco Engineering & Construction Co., Ltd. (Posco E&C).
The plant will be constructed in the outskirts of Mejillones, Antophagasta in Northern Chile with a capacity of 472MW.
Posco E&C is an engineering & construction company headquartered in Soule, South Korea. With its strong competitiveness in plant engineering, they have been expanding their business to overseas areas such as Latin America, the Middle East, and Eastern Europe.
Chile is the largest copper producer in the world with its export value accounting for approximately 65% of total export earnings. Also, Chile is the world’s largest producer of lithium, which has gained attention as a rare metal.
The electricity generated by the Cochrane plant will be supplied mainly to the country's copper mine.
Further development and expansion for copper mines have been planed in the country and a number of power plants will be certainly required to sustain enormous amounts of energy in the process.

Torishima receives orders for
boiler feed pumps and cooling water pumps for fertilizer plant in Nigeria
Torishima Pump Mfg. Co., Ltd. has received orders for boiler feed pumps, cooling water pumps, condensate pumps as well as auxiliary pumps for Indorama Eleme Fertilizer & Chemical Limited in Rivers State, Nigeria from Toyo Engineering Corporation.
The state-of-the-art facility is one of the largest fertilizer plants in the world which production consists of 2,300 tons per day of Ammonia and 4,000 tons per day of Urea. Torishima pumps will be operated as part of the utility services such as boilers and cooling water used in the plant.
With the rapid growth of global population and food demand, demand for fertilizer which boosts food productivity has been rising. Consequently, the construction of fertilizer plants has been accelerating across the world.
Ammonia and Urea are normally made from oil and natural gas. So, these raw materials will be essential not only as fuel but also as a resource to enhance food production for the future.
Torishima pumps will have a significant role in the fertilizer plant where safe and stable operation is required. Therefore, some of these pumps are in compliance with API standards, widely applied to the Oil & Gas / Chemical industry.

Torishima receives orders for supplementary cooling water pumps
for Black Point Power Station in Hong KongName of Pump Supplementary Cooling Water Pump Size / Type SPV 1200 Quantity 2 units Capacity 4m³/sec Total Head 10.5m Motor Rating 600kW Torishima Pump Mfg.Co.,Ltd. has received orders for supplementary cooling water pumps and peripheral equipment for Black Point Power Station from China Light and Power (CLP), as an E&M subcontractor.
This combined cycle power station located in Hong Kong has a generation capacity of 2,500MW (8×312.5MW), owned by Castle Peak Power Company Limited, a joint venture of CLP and ExxonMobile Energy Limited.
Since the start of commercial operation in 1996, Black Point Power Station has supported peoples' lives in Hong Kong as one of the major power plants along with nearby Castle Peak Power Station (4,108MW).
However, there has been a problem from the beginning that the water level in the pit for main cooling water pumps is not high enough so all of the 8 main cooling water pumps can not be operated simulataniously at the low tidal level.
In order to solve the problem, the new supplementary cooling water pumps will be provided to supply water to the exiting pump pit.
Now, at the Black Point Power Station, the renewal time is approaching and more replacement work for main equipment is expected to increase. Torishima continue to make a committment to the electricity business in Hong Kong by fulfilling a responsible role in this project. - [ May 2013 ]

Torishima Pump Mfg.Co.,Ltd. has received orders for boiler circulation pumps for Kudgi Super Thermal Power Project Stage 1 from Doosan Power Systems India Pvt.,Ltd.
This power plant will be located in the southwestern Indian state of Karnataka and the end-user is the country’s largest electricity producer, NTPC (National Thermal Power Corporation).
With the rapid economic growth in India, the power demand is also expected to grow for years to come. Power generation plants play a significant role in boosting the develpment and prosperity across the country.
Torishiam has supplied a number of pumps, mainly boiler circulation pumps, to India in the past many years.

from Taiwan Power Company.
Torishima will be responsible for the manufacture and supply of the 9 circulation water pumps.
The Linkou Thermal Power Plant is located in Linkou District in northern Taiwan, approximately 30 kilometers west from central Taipei and
will meet the electricity demand for Taipei City and neighboring region.
Taiwan Power Company is a state-owned power utility, providing solely electric transmission and
distribution businesses in the whole of Taiwan. And the company has been currently planning to
develope modern power plants in order to reduce environmental burdens.
