CEO
Kotaro Harada
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to our shareholders and investors for their continued support.
Since our founding in Torishima-cho, Osaka, in 1919, we at Torishima have continued to grow while making a broad contribution to society by providing pumps that play indispensable roles in industry and people's lives.
In the third year of our medium-term management plan, Beyond110, we achieved record-high results for the fourth consecutive year in FY 2023, with sales reaching 81.1 billion yen and operating profit at 6.8 billion yen. Accordingly, we have revised our targets for the final year of Beyond110, FY 2029, upward to a sales CAGR of 6.5% including special large orders, an operating profit margin of over 10%, and an ROE of over 10%.
Two decades have passed since the Torishima Global Team (TGT) launch in 2002 and the company's full-scale overseas expansion.
Starting with only 3 overseas offices at launch, we now have 28 offices in 18 countries worldwide.
We have steadily improved our profitability during this period by establishing a lean management structure driven by revamping our core systems, improving productivity, promoting our service business, and diversifying our human resources.
Now that the world has witnessed the paradigm shift caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, it must transform itself at an unprecedented speed.
The business environment is one of constant change: the important long-term challenges of climate change and corporate governance, digitalization accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic, the promotion of work-style reforms, and intensifying competition for human resources.
In these circumstances, what role can we play as a pump manufacturer?
First, we made a thorough effort to improve the efficiency of the pumps that are our core business to reduce CO2 emissions and power consumption.
We are also developing new pumps that can operate on clean energy sources such as ammonia and hydrogen, which do not emit carbon dioxide.
Other pumps we offer help to mitigate damage from more frequent heavy rains caused by extreme weather conditions.
Smart maintenance allows for use of data to manage the maintenance of rotating machinery. We will continue contributing to social issues and business growth through a dual approach of GX (Green Transformation) and DX (Digital Transformation).
Finally, we will strive to further enhance our corporate value through constructive dialogue with all our stakeholders and investors.
We look forward to your continued support.
